Method Endeavors and Valor Threat Protection are teaming up in AZ to bring you the Active Threat Lab (ATL) This is a course designed specifically for Law Enforcement professionals to enhance their skillset and swift response to an active threat.  Much of this course focuses on the mindset needed, as much as anything, when processing time sensitive information and making split second decisions of life or death.  Students will be exposed to scenarios in which they are forced to make rapid decisions in a chaotic and high threat environment, stopping the threat, stopping further loss of life and taking command & control of the scene.  We will explore the manipulation and accuracy of students primary and secondary firearm using CQB principles on the live fire day of the course.  The schedule is 3 full days of training utilizing a Crawl-Walk-Run Methodology.

-Day 1 Is Medical and Trauma familiarization at a local academy with students and staff volunteers helping operate scenarios and learn together durning the CRAWL Phase.  This day is dedicated to movement and tactics when responding as a team and/or solo. We will also be refreshing your medical competency under the direction of Methods Special Operations Combat Medical Staff.

-Day 2  Is the day of live-fire hosted at an agency range in the area and focused on Close Quarters Marksmanship. This is the WALK Phase of training and focuses heavily on decision point, accuracy and communication while on the move.  Made for helping officers ditch range habits of just shooting paper on a flat range. This day will make them gain confidence in their ability and decision making skills in a CQB Environment.

-Day 3 Is an intricate and well planned, full-scale scenario day at an actual school in the area. We will work alongside faculty and student volunteers to simulate an active threat and mass casualty event that you need to respond correctly to, in a confident and competent manner while the scenarios erupt into absolute chaos.   This is our RUN Phase implementing highly sophisticated Force on Force scenarios and a technological training tool not available to the public or with any other organization.

Safety while instructing is our primary concern. We will take students through each evolution in a step by step, methodical process.                                                              The ATL will be led by Method Endeavors & Valor Threat Protection Cadre, combining lifelong experience of Special Operations personnel and Tactical Law Enforcement professionals with 16+ Years on a full time SWAT Team.  We believe that the sharing of knowledge and experience will better prepare all students for any scenario and any option because they have been exposed to all of it in training.  The course introduces principles such as:

-Threat response timeline and comms plan

-Mindset, preparation and adopted lifestyle

-Actions on arrival

-TCCC Fundamentals

-Retention shooting and the idea of it

-Primary to secondary transitions

-Movement while shooting and basic communication.

-Fundamentals of CQB

-Individual vs team response

-Repeated scenario exposure to ingrain reflexive response and decrease freeze or indecision.

The ultimate goal with the ATL is to get officers from around the country together and make each other better for our families, Departments and communities.
